Everyone knows Neuschwanstein. But there are more notable buildings of King Ludwig II in the Bavarian Alps. One of them is Linderhof. Linderhof is almost the opposite of Neuschwanstein. Neuschwanstein looks like a medieval castle with fortification, built on the hill for defensive reasons. Neuschwanstein is something special. According to my favorite site www.germany.travel it is on first or second place (depends on year) in the ladder of the most popular tourist destinations in Germany.

We spent a wunderful week in Tuscany in July 2013 and we decided to make a two-day stopover in the Alps.
I booked a guesthouse high up in mountains, in the small village Berwang in Austria, close to the German border.
